Duties and Responsibilities
Teach courses recognized by the New York State Education Department.
Develop or modify curriculum and course outlines.
Create daily or weekly lesson plans and conduct a schedule of formal instruction for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facility.
Requirements
- One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
- Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty (Teacher 2).
- Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty (Teacher 3).
- Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty (Teacher 4).

Background Investigation Requirements:
