What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortuary Transport Specialist (Removal Technician) position at Stateline Mortuary Transport?
This is a full-time position and the schedule for this job requires the candidate to live in the area of Calhoun County, Alabama, and to be "on-call" for 96 hours straight every weekend, starting Thursday at 6:00 p.m. through Monday 6:00 p.m.
The hire will be off work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and make a guaranteed minimum of $500 per week, paid bi-weekly by direct deposit. Additional compensation will be added for additional calls completed beyond the expected amount.
The Mortuary Removal Technician is responsible for transporting deceased human remains to funeral homes, crematories, and medical examiner's facilities from places of death including hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions, private residences, and accident scenes.
This position will require work to be performed in Calhoun County and surrounding areas and may also require commuting to other areas on shifts or on a call-by-call basis.
The ideal applicant is dependable and a fast learner who has strong communication skills and represents themselves in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
-Safely performs removals and transports of deceased human remains in company vehicle to specified locations in accordance with company policies and local laws
-Represents the company and its clients in a professional manner by following best practices
-Maintains a clean driving record that is acceptable to commercial insurance carriers
-Performs on-call responsibilities, including nights, holidays and weekends
Qualifications
-Must be able to follow instructions and task-oriented
-Must work well with a team
-Must follow all company policies and procedures as provided in training and follow company business professional dress code
-Must be comfortable with communicating in a professional manner in difficult situations
-Must be able to work rotating weekends
-Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent
-Must have ability to push/pull 75 lbs. and lift 50 lbs. for short intervals
-Must have valid state-issued driver's license and clean driving record
-Must consent to background check and randomized drug testing
