Job Summary :
The Staten Island Center for Independent Living, Inc ("SICIL") provides services to people with disabilities. We are seeking a part-time Handyperson to assist with year-round building and grounds maintenance. The Handyperson will report to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
- Performs general maintenance of the facility, (including but not limited to sweeping, emptying trash bins, icing the sidewalks).
- Runs errands for the center when needed, (including but not limited to hardware stores, Lowe's, Home Depot).
- Assembles office equipment and furniture. (Desks, cabinets, chairs, etc., as needed).
- Conducts weekly inventory of supplies, (including but not limited to paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags), and promptly provides the H/R Office Coordinator with the information.
Physical requirements:
- The Handyperson must be able to safely utilize a ladder and transport building and maintenance materials up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a hand truck when needed.
Work Environment:
- Indoor office setting is temperature regulated.
- Outdoor working conditions may vary according to the season.
- May be required to work in small/confined spaces to complete building and/or ground maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
