This is a SALARIED / EXEMPT position. The annual range is: $80,500 - $100,000.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Item and Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the floral team to ensure that category management processes are followed-costing, promotions, vendor and item set up, pricing strategy adherence. They also employ their analytical and organizational skills to drive sales and profitability through the proper management of pricing strategies and promotional plan execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process paperwork to maintain correct pricing and purchasing data and be responsible for all ad paperwork submissions
Assist in Category reviews and buying projects-write POs, buysheet management, weekly plant orders
Monitor and report on promotional and category performance
Gather and analyze competitive pricing data to provide solution-based recommendations that enable Category Managers to make timely pricing decisions
Participate in buying meetings to develop category strategies
Learn all aspects of system and reporting tools that are required to perform job duties
Work cross functionally with all areas of the company.
Facilitate new vendor and item setup to maintain data integrity
Meet deadlines to maintain the proper flow of business
Facilitate regulatory compliance and provide operational guidance where appropriate
Responsible for planning, organizing and procuring product for all special events
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred
Minimum of (3) years’ experience in Retail with Stater Bros. Markets or equivalent position. Minimum of one (1) year experience in Sales, Merchandising, Marketing Roles, or equivalent position
Knowledge of plants and floral merchandising. Industry knowledge preferred
MS Office experience with above average knowledge of excel
Strong organizational skills and prioritization skills
Strong Math skills
Ability to problem solve complex issues, know when to escalate
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with a team and thrive in an intense and fast paced environment
Current Valid California Driver License with good driving record
