COMPENSTATION : JOB SUMMARY :
Oversees the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks. This position is essential for ensuring that the organization's data assets are managed as a strategic resource, with clear policies, standards, and processes in place to maintain data quality, security, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
The Manager leads a dedicated team in developing and monitoring data governance practices, collaborating closely with data stewards, business stakeholders, and BI Center of Excellence (COE) teams to uphold data integrity and support data-driven decision-making.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Create data governance strategy and programs aligned to business objectives
- Lead the data governance team and work closely with data owners, stewards, and other stakeholders to maintain and improve data quality
- Develop, implement, and oversee data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure accurate, consistent, and accessible data across the organization
- Establish and monitor data governance metrics and KPIs to measure and report on data quality and governance effectiveness
- Report program results and risk assessments to relevant leadership teams
- Foster a culture of data accountability and ensure adherence to data governance practices and rules
- Engage with Data Strategists to align data governance initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Lead processes for issue escalation and remediation
- Promote data governance best practices through training and coaching
- Stay current on regulations and trends to enhance data governance initiatives
- Ensure data models, data lineage, and data definitions are captured in the data dictionary / business catalog
- Perform other duties and assignments as needed
