Putty Patch Summary:
Operate the Putty lines and Blank stall patch as principal job, help sustaining TWI trained Putty operators and be actively involved in achieving safety, quality and production goals. Work to continuously improve the Putty operations and department. Putty defects according to veneer species and grade specifications. Putty and Repair panels in the Blank stall patch area according to the grade and specification.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Follow all lockout / tag out (LOTO), when required.
- Read and understand putty color charts, proper document information on putty production reports and able to enter production information into MRP system and verify all customer notes.
- Rotate in all putty positions and willing to learn other jobs in the Central Area.
- General housekeeping for the Big line, Small line, Edgeplug and Blank stall patch area.
- Help organize breaking schedule through the Central department.
- Must be TWI certified in the Putty areas.
- Must know how to clean, maintain, and trouble shoot.
- Meet production and quality standards for the Putty areas.
- Support all 5S and Kaizen programs.
- Must complete JSAs and Certification for Putty, Edgeplug and Blank stall patch.
- Must support the team in achieving all Safety, Production and Quality goals.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Will need to be certified through the TWI certification program.
- Use of micrometer
Language Skills:
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees on all shifts, Supervisors, Coordinators, Quality Control and others.
Mathematical Skills:
- Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Ability to calculate basic percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and work to implement solutions.
