Description
The Director of Procurement role will be pivotal in driving our procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing the supply chain operations. The Director of Procurement will oversee a talented team and will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities algin with company objectives and deliver value across our manufacturing units.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that supports the overall business goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigations.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales team to ensure procurement strategies align with operational and customer needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate contracts that align with best practices and the company’s financial goals.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics to senior management ensuring transparency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and corporate policies related to procurement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to manage and foster supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Experience
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
- Experience in electrical or metal fabrication industries.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization.
- Experience with global sourcing and logistics management.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to manufacturing procurement.
