What you will do
- Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for hospice patients and processing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Manage phone inquiries, enters charge, and notifies pharmacist as needed.
- Select, prepare, and label medications for dispensing; prepare FedEx labels for shipments.
- Return unused medication bottles post-preparation and gather medications for automated dispensing machines.
- Maintain inventory levels, communicate ordering needs, and restock supplies while removing outdated items.
- Support equipment maintenance and ensures a clean, sanitized work environment.
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members and hospice partners and assist in training new staff as needed.
What we look for
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
- Pharmacy Technician license in the state, if applicable
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician required
- Hospice and palliative care experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
- Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred
