As the Regional Sales Director, you will drive sales and distribution strategies across multiple states in the Northeast (New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine). You will lead and mentor State Managers, ensuring they achieve their sales targets and implement effective strategies to enhance brand visibility and optimize distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies focusing on volume and distribution.
- Set goals for each state and work with wholesalers to forecast and apply sales plans.
- Lead a team of State Managers, providing them with individual goals and guidance.
- Conduct regular meetings to review performance and provide strategic direction.
- Oversee execution of sales strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Monitor sales data to identify trends and growth opportunities.
- Ensure states meet their plans and provide corrective roadmaps if needed.
- Engage with trade shows, smaller regional chains, and key accounts both on- and off-premise.
- Communicate with distributors, manage pricing strategies, promotions, and inventory levels.
- Ensure distributor sales staff is trained on product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Break down quarterly sales plans and monitor progress for each wholesaler.
- Provide feedback and coaching to State Managers.
- Analyze market performance to ensure goals are on track and achieved.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of sales experience, sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry is required.
- 5 years in a leadership role supervising a sales team.
- Experience managing multiple distributors and/or sales regions concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in inventory management and distribution.
- Willingness to travel up to 75%.
- Familiarity with beer, wine, and spirits distribution networks.
- Experience with key account or national account management.
- Proficiency in using CRM and sales reporting tools.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word).
- Military experience is a plus.
- Estimated Base Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 USD.
- Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and qualifications.
- The salary range refers to base salary only and is not inclusive of the total compensation package.
