Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher/porter to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the food service industry, particularly in settings such as restaurants, hotels, catering services, or banquet facilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as required by kitchen staff.
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
• Help maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak service times.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Willingness to help with various tasks beyond dishwashing, including food preparation and cleaning duties.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation practices is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
