Job Function:
The job of the Stäubli Quality Laboratory Technician role is to work under the accordance of Stäubli Corporation’s Quality Management System and ensure all aspects are respected within the purview for the role responsibilities. This position will carry out assessments and maintenance on industrialized product ranges in return from customers while respecting the assembly ranges and product traceability as well as supporting functional operations in Quality Control as needed.
Perform functions on laboratory equipment and reports on materials, processes, and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company’s quality standards while completing all necessary documents and inspection reports. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Supports the business plan and objectives by helping meet the requirements of divisional, customer, and overall business goals and strategy.
Will provide technical support to manufacturing operations by ensuring products delivered to customers are manufactured in accordance with established quality and safety standards as well as meeting all customer requirements. This position will work closely in conjunction, as a team, with Production, Customer Quality, Warehouse/Logistics, Planning, Sales Administration as well as other internal departments dependent on the responsibility.

Responsibilities and Objectives:
- Work with administrative center and Customer Quality Engineering to monitor customer feedback
- Carry out assessments in the laboratory as needed to investigate service requests
- Assist with PPAP analysis using laboratory equipment for in depth analysis of quality control
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement including productivity, quality, and safety
- Identify causes of malfunctions in materials and complete reports on known issues
- Disassemble and clean varied, complex products and analyze wear with available equipment
- Write cohesive reports summarizing findings, respecting traceability, and task specific needs
- Assists quality control with acceptable quality of the product coming from our suppliers (incoming inspection) and acceptable quality of the product made internally through process checks before shipping to the final customer (outgoing/final inspection)
- Create and assign corrective actions and coordinate activities to ensure timely and effective solutions to both internal and external issues
- Solves problems by obtaining data, performing analysis to identify and select from clear alternatives
- Coordination, communication, team problem solving when required between departments/functional areas for production/services
- Work closely with European colleagues to maintain working standards throughout organization.
- Complete and update quality documentation including but not limited to RMAs, FMEAs and control plans to ensure process capability and product quality
- Ensure that supplier and customer data is properly documented in the appropriate format.
- Dress attire appropriate for the workplace, including PPE when needed
- Use professional etiquette when in conversations in person, phone, and email
- Results-oriented with a clear focus on high quality
- Act as a team with all peers to accomplish tasks that may be additional to job description
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years related manufacturing experience
- Expertise in CMM and Profilometer use (Zeiss preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of metrology equipment and use (required)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (required)
- Good knowledge of Geometric tolerances and dimensioning (required)
- Strong computer skills: particularly Microsoft Office 365 suite and SAP knowledge
- Technical knowledge and experience (mechanical, electrical, software)
- Excellent listening and communication skills, curiosity, comprehension, self-motivation, problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing or plant experience within Supply Chain and/or Operations
- Ability to define own tasks and demonstrate solid work ethic and team oriented behavior
Physical Requirements:
- Periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipment
Work schedule:
- This position will report to the Duncan, SC office with standard operating hours: M-F, 8am-5pm. Expectation to follow guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook
