Production Supervisor

Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the execution of the daily production and maintenance operations in both the manual assembly and automated assembly areas.  The Production Supervisor will ensure that the team follows all procedures related to quality and efficiency and will also ensure completion of team projects as assigned by the Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet and develop performance metrics, KPIs, relative to the safety, cost and quality of production.

• Work closely with manufacturing engineers and quality personnel to implement the desired build flow and assembly process that adheres to Stäubli requirements.
• Coordinate with the Production Planner, the weekly and monthly production schedules and work center capacities including scheduling updates, cost analysis, and progress reporting.
• Develop and implement shift assignments and overtime as needed to insure both internal and external customer deadlines are met.

• Create and aid in development of work instructions, deviations, workflows, standard routings and other technical documentation as required.
• Analyze downtime and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
• Inspect and measure products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Trend and analyze production data as needed using appropriate documentation.
• Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Initiate 5S and good housekeeping practices by implementing cleaning tasks and organization throughout the work area.
• Plan, maintain, and repair equipment in coordination with all maintenance corrective and preventative activities.
• Train and assist team members on departmental policies, operation of relevant equipment, good manufacturing practices, correct documentation of production documents, and Stäubli standard operating procedures.
• Foster and facilitate a team environment by encouraging open communication and participation in team functions and related activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• Drive to continually improve the production environment while maintaining a clean and orderly workplace.
• Understand and properly maintain an ERP system.
• Mathematical abilities include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (including the use of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals). Additional requirements include ability to calculate raw material consumption rates, averages, and production efficiencies.
• Ability to interpret of engineering drawings a plus.
• Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that collaborates with employees, customers, co-workers and management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma
• 5 years in a manufacturing environment
• Technically Competent
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel)
• SAP experience a plus

$38.00 per hour
