We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Windsor, CA. We are a highly skilled and dedicated team with a great benefits package and atmosphere. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns and customer complaints.
  • Create 8D reports for internal corrective actions with objective evidence and implement preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Design and document methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection (Control Plans / New Production Inspection Records).
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products is in accordance with approved data. This includes measurement data analysis and process capability analysis in support of qualifying new tools and projects.
  • Develop and maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with established quality processes and customer requirements.
  • Develop inspection plans for engineering change orders.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to monitor adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support other QA personnel to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality procedures, process flows, and work instructions, as appropriate.
  • Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.
  • Monitor suppliers’ performance and conduct supplier audits.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness, as required.
  • Assist in First Article reports and Tool validation for new product development.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

  • Maintain a high standard of quality through all aspects of the job.
  • Be a team player willing to assist where needed and be a self-starter.
  • Have good communications skills to work effectively with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel as well as with outside suppliers, partners, and customers.
  • Be familiar with problem solving methodologies, analysis, and tools such as SPC, FMEA, Route Cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.

 

 

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and manufacturing quality tools.
  • Training in AIAG concepts preferred, Quality certifications such as Six Sigma, ASQ, are a plus.
  • 3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engineering drawing knowledge with GD&T and metrology experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including the use of statistical process control (SPC) software.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes, including injection molding, machining, and automated assembly and production equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
