Bessie Weller Elementary School is seeking candidates for a Reading Teacher / Literacy Coach opening for the 2025-26 School Year.
Salary based on 2024-25 Salary Scale.
210-day Contract.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Elementary Education and Reading Specialist
- Three years of teaching experience in the area of reading
- Experience and / or enthusiasm for peer leadership opportunities and professional development

SUMMARY :
The Literacy Coach acts as teacher, leader, collaborator, and manager to ensure that high
quality literacy instruction is provided and literacy learning is maximized for students.
This is accomplished by working with the principal and faculty to determine the schools'
strengths and challenges and developing a literacy plan for the school.

Duties performed typically in school settings to include classrooms, gyms, cafeteria, auditorium and recreational areas. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hand, and talk or hear; light lifting up to 40 pounds and other limited physical activities are required. Movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
