What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer position at Staunton Police Department?
The Staunton Police Department is currently accepting applications for Full Time Police Officer to fill an opening and to establish a list for future openings. Applicants must have completed either the Illinois Full or Part Time Police Academy or have attended an out of state Police Academy. If an out of state Police Academy was attended applicant must have the Training and Standards Board waive Illinois training. Applications are available at the Staunton Police Department or City Hall and must be turned in no later than 5 P.M. on April 11th, 2025.
Candidates must be 21 years of age and have no Felony convictions. Candidates must possess a valid Illinois Drivers license and will be required to live with in 30 miles of City Limits within 6 months after hiring.
Duties include patrol, answering calls for service and traffic enforcement.
