PROGRAM CHAIR for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Meet all requirements to be a faculty member in their discipline which includes a Bachelor's degree, four years of experience in the DMSG field, and be a registered sonographer.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Program Chair leads the delivery of the academic program on a campus, including oversight of faculty.
Program Chairs report to the Academic Dean.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure faculty files are complete at all times and contain the documentation stipulated by the state licensing authority and the applicable accrediting body.
Supervise externships. Work with students to obtain integrated and externship sites.
Supervise all faculty and education staff; conduct annual performance evaluations, complete classroom observations, motivate, mentor, and coach all members of the education department in completion of their job duties. of
Ensure faculty scheduled to teach are appropriately qualified, meeting the state requirements the state accrediting/programmatic agency. licensing authority and the applicable
Monitor student retention metrics based on accreditation guidelines on a monthly basis to ensure the appropriate benchmarks are achieved monthly and/or annually.
Plan, coordinate and/or participate in all faculty in-services and all-faculty meetings.
Provide academic advising for students in their program(s).
Provide mentorship to all faculty in the assigned programs through classroom observations, weekly/monthly departmental meetings and student feedback.
Assist in the coordination and running of an advisory council meeting each year.
Supervise externships
Administer proficiency examinations, as required.
Work closely with career services personnel to assist in the placement of students after graduation.
Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:
Full time salaried position
Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
