Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex reconciliations of financial transactions, settlements, and accounts across multiple systems.
- Research and resolve escalated discrepancies and high-risk settlement issues.
- Analyze settlement data and provide insights for management reports.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to settlement processes.
- Reconcile daily financial transactions, settlements and bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external bank statements or settlement reports.
- Prepare daily balancing and reconciliation reports for internal review.
- Maintain accurate records of settlements, tickets, cases for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Accounting, Operations) to resolve settlement issues.
- Communicate with external parties, such as banks or payment processors to address and resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to financial settlements.
- Support audits and provide documentation as required.
- Identify opportunities to streamline settlement processes and improve efficiency.
- Support team initiatives and projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or 5 years of operational banking.
- 4 years of experience in the payments industry or operational banking, strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting, and reconciliation processes.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with reconciliation systems or software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
