We are looking to hire 1-2 Kitchen Attendants for our Breakfast Buffet and Evening Social. The Breakfast Attendant hours are from 5am - 11am M-F, 6am -12pm Sat & Sun
The Evening Social hours are from 4pm-8pm Mon, Tues & Wed
Breakfast attendants are responsible for achieving and maintaining customer service and product quality standards for the delivery of complimentary breakfast to the hotel guests. Breakfast attendants are an integral part of the success of the hotel, and must project friendliness and cleanliness during all business hours. We want to exceed our guest’s expectations and always go that extra mile to prove how important they are to our success. Excellent communication skills, a professional, positive, guest-oriented attitude, ability to multitask efficiently, a presentable professional appearance, flexibility with scheduling, motivation to complete training, ability to maintain easy conversation with the public, great customer service skills, ability to work in a busy environment and make judgment calls, possess a clear speaking voice and fluency in English, as well as time management skills are assets that will help a Breakfast Attendant excel at their position. Being bi-lingual is desirable, but not a requirement of employment.
Responsibilities include:
- Set-up and breakdown of continental breakfast items according to Staybridge Suites standards;
- Know and comply with cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures;
- Prepare breakfast according to hotel and franchise standards maintaining adequate and sufficient product at all times to service guests based on hotel occupancy and demands;
- Greet and acknowledge guests as they arrive;
- Maintain the cleanliness of the breakfast area and equipment at all times; bus and clean tables; straighten chairs and properly arrange furniture;
- Restock drink and food items and other supplies (e.g., plastic ware, napkins) according to hotel and franchise standards;
- Make fresh coffee as needed;
- Serve as hostess to hotel guests providing table-side service including coffee refills;
- Thank guests as they depart;
- At the close of the complimentary breakfast, bus and clean all tables, empty trash receptacles; clean, vacuum and mop the breakfast area, store and dispose of all drinks, food items and supplies in accordance with operating standards and health codes;
- Clean all equipment and properly store equipment and food according to standards and health codes;
- Receive supplies, date and rotate stock; complete and record inventory; follow hotel operational procedures to ensure an order is placed for items that are below par levels;
- Perform essential job functions in accordance with local health department codes, standards and regulations;
- Respond to guest’s needs, special requests and complaints in a courteous, efficient and timely manner;
- Attend food safety seminars, complete franchise training requirements, attend mandatory staff meetings and maintain current food handlers permit at all times;
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining other areas of the hotel, as needed and requested by the General Manager or Manager on Duty
Personality/Physical Requirements:
You are often times a key representative of our hotel that a guest comes into contact with on a daily basis, and as such an important source of public relations to our business. Therefore, confidentiality, cheerfulness, friendliness, honesty, politeness, and tactfulness are important traits that are expected at all times. Each guest must know they come first. Negative, unprofessional comments about guests or other team members should never be expressed in public or to a guest. Keep the 4 R’s in mind; you must be responsible, reliable, respectful, and responsive.
Light maintenance and custodial work are required as needed. You are responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and organization of the breakfast area and adjoining kitchen.
Standing/walking, talking on the phone, food preparation, people skills, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds are required daily.

- Consistently reports to work at scheduled time in the proper uniform and name tag.
- Inspect all equipment and furniture in your daily work area for any hazards to employees and guests. Report all hazards immediately to management for repair.
- Follow established standards, policies, and work procedures for the continental breakfast area.
- Comply at all times with Staybridge Suites standards.
- Coordinate daily food service supply with front desk to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Arrange special services that are requested by guests.
- Offer information, assistance, and directions to guests.
- Maintain a clear understanding of emergency procedures and where emergency information is located.
- Report to work at scheduled time in proper, clean uniform with nametag.
- Prevent loss/damage to hotel supplies and property.
- Notify General Manager of what items are needed to order in a timely fashion.
Other Requirements:
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Current food handlers permit.(if state requires)
- Food preparation; basic kitchen equipment operation.
- Language: Basic reading and writing of the English language required. Additional foreign languages a plus.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Working Conditions: Normal for an office/business environment. May require occasional overtime, to include weeknights and/or weekends.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
