What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Desk Agent position at Staybridge Suites?
WE ARE MORE THAN JUST A WORKPLACE
We are seeking a Front Desk Agent that is fellable to work either a 7-3 or 3-11 shift for our growing team. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys interacting with the public and is able to perform basic administrative work, such as answering phones and processing paperwork. We are looking for someone who is conscientious and detail oriented, but also independent and self-motivated. The successful candidates will also be responsible for responding to customer service inquiries, overseeing the maintenance of our facility, monitoring security cameras and handling emergency situations if necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Regular attendance is essential
- May be required to work varying schedules and holidays
- Required to fully comply with the hotel’s rules and regulations
- Document problems in computer system.
- Promptly answer the telephone using a clear speaking voice. Answer telephone with the hotel’s scripted greeting. Input messages into the computer and retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested. Ensure all guest correspondences are kept confidential
- Direct guests to proper resources when they call the hotel.
- Verify and enter credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator.
- We use OPERA PMS to Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.
Requirements and Qualifications

- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
- Maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays.
