Role Summary:

The Sales Broker will report to the Operations Manager. This position identifies opportunities for new business through continuous prospecting with the ability to convert leads into active sales. This role requires 3 freight brokerage sales experience. This is a "hunter" role with the ability to swiftly pivot from sales to operational support using portals for pricing, booking and covering loads.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential clients and transform them into loyal customers by fostering relationships built on trust and reliability.
  • Address clients' critical issues and implement proactive solutions to prevent future problems.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and resolve any concerns promptly.
  • Study current market trends and conditions to accurately predict pricing.
  • Negotiate prices with customers and suppliers on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Reduce risk by thoroughly vetting vendors to ensure they are reliable partners.
  • Oversee and track shipments, keeping all relevant parties informed at key stages.
  • Monitor the progress of each shipment with every vendor interaction, looking out for potential issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive records that can withstand legal scrutiny. Defuse tense situations to achieve the desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a brokerage.
  • A solid understanding of procurement regulations, practices, and e-procurement systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to various audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing supplier proposals and conducting basic cost analyses.
  • Outstanding collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of transactions and projects effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,657.00 - $89,956.00 per year
