Job Description :
As a satellite systems engineer at NOAA / NESDIS, you will :
- Provide systems engineering services that encompass a broad range of professional services focusing on the conception, design, development, maintenance, and evolution of specific software applications.
- Oversee the design and development of satellite application processing systems that traverse the product lifecycle including transition to operations.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle process for scientific application processing systems and their products.
- Guide science teams through the cloud onboarding process and the transition to operations of their software applications.
- Work with NESDIS partners to collaboratively meet NOAA’s diverse user needs by enhancing products to improve user experience; maximizing the exploitation of new satellite data sources; and streamlining the transition of cutting-edge research into operations.
- Support value-based decisions on investments in support of user priorities – providing and maximizing value through its management processes.
- Efficiently transition new and enhanced products from science to operations while taking advantage of the development speed and data pipelines within the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF).
