Job Description
Operating at elevated production levels, the Senior Home Loan Officer position requires the expert execution of Real Estate lending tasks in alignment with STCU loan standards. Distinguished by a track record of success, this position focuses on originating and closing loans from internal and external sources, including conventional, government, and construction loans. The role requires exceptionally accurate and efficient completion of residential mortgage origination functions surpassing the benchmarks for non-senior roles.
Core Job Requirements / Outcomes
- Meet mortgage loan production standards by performing high volume lending functions accurately, timely, and in alignment with STCU loan standards and procedures.
- Guide qualified borrowers through the mortgage loan origination process successfully by setting clear expectations with borrowers on timelines, loan conditions and closing dates, as well as evaluating loan application materials and making recommendations that align with STCU policies and / or secondary market guidelines.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities with other departments to maximize their expertise to fulfill corporate objectives and extend financial aid by being proficient in STCU’s products, systems, and procedures as well as developing strong relationships.

Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred.
Certifications : National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008 required.
Job Experience : Minimum of three years of lending experience in a financial services environment with knowledge of mortgage terms, title insurance and required mortgage processing procedures.
Software Skills : Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
Physical Demands : Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull / push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions : Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Travel Demands : Reliable transportation is required due to frequent travel to branches and other locations. Must possess ability to travel short and long distances to meet member and credit union expectations and build business relationships. This role involves frequent travel to worksites in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho regions. Significant portion of time is spent in the field, interacting with members, and conducting visits.
