Overview
We are seeking a scientist for our Cambridge site with expertise in biochemical and biophysical assay development to support our cutting-edge platform technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to characterize ligand interactions with target proteins.
- Develop functional assays to evaluate the mechanism of action for ligands.
- Implement and optimize automation strategies to enhance assay throughput and reproducibility.
- Manage external collaborations to ensure data quality and timely deliverables.
- Serve as the biochemistry lead and work with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, or a related field with 0-3 years of industry experience; OR M.S. with 5 years of relevant biotech/pharma experience.
- Hands-on experience with biochemical and biophysical assay development (FP, HTRF, SPR, DSF, etc.).
- Proficiency in protein characterization techniques such as mass spectrometry, SDS-PAGE, and Western blot.
- Knowledge and appreciation of laboratory safety procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic team environment and be inspired to develop and apply new technologies to advance projects efficiently.
- Excellent written, organizational, analysis, and documentation skills. Ability to communicate progress effectively with colleagues across several scientific disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory automation and high-throughput screening technologies.
- Proven track record of managing CRO relationships for assay execution and/or protein production.
