Senior Backend Engineer
Location: Boston or Bay Area (preferable)
We are a fast-growing cybersecurity startup dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that protect organizations from advanced threats. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our talented team and play a pivotal role in building secure, scalable, and resilient applications.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications and services.
- Implement best practices for application security, ensuring our systems are resilient to modern cyber threats.
- Lead architectural decisions for new features and services, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Develop and deploy containerized applications using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and security in cloud-native environments, primarily on AWS.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging threats, and new technologies to continuously enhance our systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on cybersecurity applications or platforms.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems and frameworks.
- Strong experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, ECS, EventBridge, etc.).
- Expertise in containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure and resilient systems.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and common security frameworks or compliance standards (e.g., NIST, OWASP, SOC2).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze and improve system performance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive attitude and a team-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a cybersecurity-focused startup or cybersecurity product company.
- Familiarity with threat modeling, incident response, or penetration testing.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of modern logging, monitoring, and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
- Background in building event-driven architectures using technologies like EventBridge or Kafka.
- Experience with building streaming applications using technologies like Apache Flink, Redpanda, or Data Bricks
- Familiarity with microservices and serverless architectures.
