The Role:

We are looking for a Founding Engineer with expertise in Python and SQL to bridge the gap between Data Engineering, Data Science, and Machine Learning Engineering. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, developing ML models, and deploying production-grade AI solutions. You will work closely with the founding team to define the company's data strategy and set the stage for future growth.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and optimize machine learning models for real-world applications.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain ML models in production environments.
• Own and manage the company’s data infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into business workflows.
• Establish best practices for data management, model versioning, and experiment tracking.
• Take a hands-on approach in shaping the technical roadmap of the company.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as Airflow, Spark, or dbt.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data storage and model deployment.
• Knowledge of ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Ability to work across disciplines (data science, engineering, ML) in a startup environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Passion for building AI-driven products from the ground up.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment. Hedge funds are also ideal.
• Knowledge of MLOps best practices.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• BigQuery experience will be a huge bonus.
