Company Overview:
We are a rapidly expanding medical device company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant. In this role, you will conduct advanced cost accounting analyses, comparing estimated costs with actual expenditures, and generate detailed budget reports across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and organize data related to company expenses and costs across departments.
- Develop and refine processes for tracking and recording cost data.
- Monitor and analyze fixed costs such as rent, insurance, and salaries to ensure accurate reporting.
- Forecast and track variable costs including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Investigate discrepancies between actual and projected costs, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Prepare detailed budget reports for management and other departments.
- Perform cost analysis to assess the company’s profitability and suggest strategies for improvement.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and assist with process improvements.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Accounting teams to provide accurate product costing information.
- Take on additional tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting.
- Strong communicator, both in writing and verbally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with accounting software.
- Knowledgeable in accounting best practices and GAAP.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Able to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Comfortable working on a computer for long periods.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
