Role Overview:

As the School Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and operational success of STEAM Academy. You will be responsible for guiding the school toward achieving its mission, focusing on excellence in teaching and learning. This role requires a dynamic leader who can provide instructional support, ensure compliance with educational standards, and foster a positive school culture. You will serve as the bridge between the school community, staff, parents, and key stakeholders, working collaboratively to drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Leadership: Provide strategic direction for curriculum development and instructional practices, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students. Lead with the support of the Curriculum Director to enhance teaching methods and student outcomes.
  • Staff Development: Oversee teacher recruitment, retention, and professional development. Conduct regular teacher observations to provide constructive feedback, identify areas for growth, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily school operations, including student enrollment, transportation, and scheduling. Work closely with school vendors to ensure that facility needs are met and resources are optimally utilized.
  • School Improvement: Lead school improvement initiatives using data-driven strategies to enhance student performance and close achievement gaps. Collaborate with staff to develop and implement school-wide goals aligned with the mission and vision of the charter.
  • Instructional Support: Support teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies, integrating technology in the classroom, and differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Administer school policies in alignment with state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with charter requirements, including Title I coordination.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with the school leadership team, board, parents, community partners, and the authorizer. Communicate the school’s vision and progress effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Student and Staff Support: Oversee student supervision and discipline to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. Support staff in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive discipline strategies.
  • Resource Management: Work with the Business Manager to oversee budget allocation, manage school finances, and ensure resources are allocated effectively to support teaching and learning.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and development of school facilities, ensuring they meet the needs of students and staff. Coordinate with vendors and manage facility upgrades and repairs as necessary.
  • Community Liaison: Act as the face of the school in the community, advocating for the school’s mission and forging partnerships that enhance the educational experience.

Start Date: 07/01/2025

Qualifications:

  • Educational Leadership Experience: Minimum 2 years of successful school leadership experience, with a proven track record in improving instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Charter School Expertise: Experience working in charter schools, particularly in Minnesota, with a deep understanding of charter school operations and compliance.
  • Instructional Visionary: Strong knowledge of instructional best practices, data analysis, and curriculum development to drive academic excellence.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that address the academic and operational needs of the school.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with teachers, staff, students, parents, and community partners.
  • Resource Manager: Experience in managing school resources, including budgeting, facilities, and vendor relations.
  • Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Experience in teacher observation, instructional support, and professional development.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
