We are a mobile STEM enrichment program offering summer camps at various locations across Fairfax County. We are looking for an Office Manager / Administrative Assistant to help manage our operations year-round. This role offers part-time hours (20-30 hours per week) throughout the year, with the potential for increased hours during the summer (June–July).
Job Overview:
This role is ideal for someone organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing office work with occasional on-site support. You’ll handle staff coordination, scheduling, administrative tasks, and logistics to ensure our summer camps and year-round programs run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Hiring & Onboarding: Assist with recruiting, scheduling interviews, and onboarding 50 summer camp staff annually.
- Staff Support & Scheduling: Manage employee schedules, check timesheets, and assist with payroll processing.
- Office Administration: Maintain supplies, organize paperwork, and handle communication with staff and vendors.
- Camp Operations: Visit camp locations as needed to monitor staff, ensure materials are prepared, and assist with on-site logistics.
- Logistics & Coordination: Arrange transportation, manage vendor communication, and oversee supply purchases.
- Ongoing Administrative Support: Assist with year-round program planning and operational improvements.
- Weekend Prep: Dedicate a few hours on Saturdays (1-2 hrs) to prepare for the upcoming week, when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in office administration, summer camps, education, or event planning is a plus.
- Basic computer skills (installing files, setting up routers, troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and MS Office.
- Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must pass a background check (required for working with children).
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different camp locations as needed (mileage reimbursed).
Job Type & Compensation:
- Year-Round: Part-time (20-30 hours per week)
- Summer (June–July): May increase to 30-40 hours per week, if needed

- Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
