Full Time!

 

Salary: $28-32/hour, based upon seniority; merit; and education, training, experience.  This range may increase during employment.

 

Benefits: Paid-time-off for all employees, 401(k) plan after 6 months averaging 20 hours a week, access to healthcare for employees averaging 30 hours per week the first of the month following 30 days.

 

 

Position Summary: 

The HR and Administrative Support Specialist will assist with day-to-day human resources and administrative functions. While the primary focus will be HR tasks such as employee onboarding, benefits coordination, and basic payroll support, the position will also provide general administrative and financial assistance to our team. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Human Resources Support 

  • Assist with employee onboarding, including collecting required paperwork and setting up system access. 
  • Coordinate basic benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations (e.g., health insurance, retirement plans). 
  • Maintain and update employee records and databases. 
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate time tracking and assisting with biweekly submissions. 
  • Help communicate HR policies and benefits information to employees. 
  • Act as the point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, or HR systems. 
  • Help coordinate employee appreciation activities (e.g., lunches, events). 
  • Assist in the coordination of workers' compensation claims through claims reporting and management including providing payroll information to carrier for claims processing. 

 

Administrative Assistance 

  • Provide general office support, including filing, copying, and supply management. 
  • Assist with scheduling and maintaining internal communication tools. 
  • Serve as backup support for office-related tasks as needed. 
  • Process and maintain documentation for workers’ compensation claims and other compliance requirements. 

 

Financial and Operational Support 

  • Assist with basic financial tracking and reporting. 
  • Help organize and maintain financial documentation for audits or reports. 
  • Support the Finance and Administration Director in general bookkeeping or admin tasks. 

 

Required Competencies/Skills & Abilities: 

  • Basic understanding of office systems like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) or similar tools. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism. 
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment. 

 

Education & Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or coursework in HR, business, or a related field preferred. 
  • Previous experience in an office, HR, or administrative role is a plus but not required. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office duties. 
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, filing, and other clerical tasks. 
  • Visual acuity to read, review documents, and use computer systems. 
  • Auditory capability to communicate effectively in-person and over the phone. 
  • Ability to lift and move office supplies or equipment (typically up to 25 pounds). 
  • Ability to work in a standard office setting with occasional movement around the office for errands or tasks.

Pay Range
