Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Early Childhood Substitute Teacher to join our team at the Steamboat Child Care Center. This individual will provide support to our classroom teachers and assistant teachers, ensuring the highest quality early childhood education for children aged birth-5 years.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers and assistant teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans
- Provide daily child care duties as assigned, including feeding, diapering/potty training, and naps
- Help in other classrooms as needed to ensure a seamless learning experience for all children
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and company policies
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Be prepared to engage children in outdoor activities for extended periods, sometimes in inclement weather
- Work cooperatively with other teaching professionals to achieve common goals
- Provide positive guidance and redirection to support children's learning and development
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education degree or certification preferred
- Knowledge of child development and willingness to stay up-to-date with current best practices
- Interest in young children and a commitment to their proper care and well-being
- Flexibility to care for children of all ages, from birth to 5 years
- Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, and colleagues
- Ability to remain calm and composed under stressful situations
- Must communicate clearly (written and oral) in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
