This position is responsible for ensuring facilities are able to be used efficiently and effectively.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese examples do not include all possible responsibilities in this position and do not limit the assignment of related duties to this classification.1. Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, seals, polishes and buffs floors.2. Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms and replenishes supplies.3. Dusts and polishes surfaces.4. Moves equipment and furniture as necessary to allow for effective cleaning.5. Washes walls, ceilings, windows and woodwork.6. Cleans and polishes brass and other metalwork.7. Removes snow and ice from areas necessary to maintain safety.8. Collects and removes trash and wastepaper.9. Vacuums, spot cleans, and shampoos carpets and upholstered furniture.10. Collects recyclable materials.11. Cleans and vacuums blinds and drapes.12. Completes work orders and tracks time into Maintenance Connection system.13. Delivers products and supplies with County van to other County sites.14. Maintains and updates the custodial supplies inventory system.15. Operates power cleaning equipment.16. Attends work in a regular and timely manner.17. Performs other duties as assigned or as apparent.

Minimum QualificationsIn order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following: High school graduate or equivalentMust possess a valid Minnesota Class "D" Driver's LicensePreferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications: Experience working as a custodian in a state, city, county or commercial facilityProfessional cleaning or related experienceRight-to-Know and Blood Borne Pathogen trainingExperience using floor sweepers, auto scrubbers and high lift for window washingDesirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.2. Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials and equipment.3. Ability to perform operations involved in custodial duties.4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.5. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
