Position Objective
To participate in maintaining and improving Quarry Park and Nature Preserve by informing visitors of park rules, cleaning park facilities, and monitoring park trails and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring the park is safe by reporting and responding to emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintains grounds, buildings and provides a clean and safe environment.
2. Performs minor maintenance to park and trail facilities.
3. Opens and closes park entrance gate.
4. Cleans buildings by washing ground floor windows, sanitizing washrooms, vacuuming, dusting blinds and furniture, and cleaning walls, floors, and storage areas.
5. Patrols the park and provides rules and information to park visitors.
6. Monitors visitor parking permits and issues parking violations to vehicles without parking passes.
7. Stocks maps and parking pass forms.
8. Waters plantings and brushes trails.
9. Loads and hauls fill; picks up and hauls trash.
10. Maintains all tools, equipment, and vehicles.
11. Inspects and installs interior and boundary signage and trail barricades on closed trail segments.
12. Reports damage and theft to park facilities.
13. Contacts Sheriff's Office in case of emergencies or situations that require law enforcement response.
14. Monitors East gate.
15. Guides Emergency Responders to accident locations.
16. Interacts and cooperates with volunteers, park staff and other agencies.
17. Completes required reports.
18. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.
19. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Minimum Qualifications
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or will be by May 2025
- Possess a valid MN driver's license
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and late afternoons until after sunset
Preferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:
- Maintaining buildings and grounds
- Maintenance and operation of utility vehicles, ATV's, spin trimmers, and mowers
- Working alone or with minimal supervision
- Enforcing rules in a public setting
- First aid training and CPR certification

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 90% of the time outdoors and approximately 10% of the time indoors. Will have some exposure to health hazards and accidents. All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.
Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks Maintenance Coordinator.
Responsibility for Public Contact
Moderate.
Shifts available seven days a week 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. May through August and weekends in September.
