Position Objective
To participate in maintaining, improving, and developing County Parks and the facilities and resources they contain. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to a variety of landscaping, mowing, building maintenance, and custodial duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs general facility construction and repairs including minor building construction, furnishings, roofing, fencing, masonry, painting, and framing.
2. Performs maintenance and improvement of furnishings, landscapes, forests, grounds, roads and trails.
3. Assists with mowing, landscaping, noxious weed control, construction, cleaning, grounds keeping, sign fabrication, and furniture refurbishing.
4. Performs custodial duties including but not limited to washing floors, walls, tables, grills, and toilets.
5. Performs maintenance activities to promote a healthy turf through seed bed preparation, soil tests, fertilizing, and watering plants.
6. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or will be by May 2025
- Possess a valid MN driver's license
Preferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining buildings and grounds
- Using gas engine power equipment
- Maintenance and operation of utility vehicles, ATV's, spin trimmers, and mowers
- Working alone or with minimal supervision
- Enforcing rules in a public setting
- First aid training and CPR certification

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 90% of the time outdoors. Will have some exposure to health hazards and accidents. All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.
Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks Maintenance staff.

Moderate.Hours of Work
Shifts available Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Two positions are scheduled approximately May through August and one position is scheduled April through September.
