Position Objective
To provide security and enforcement patrol of area lakes, rivers and county parks. This position is responsible for promoting the safety and well-being of all users of the parks, trails, and waterways through public relations, education and enforcement of local ordinances and statutes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Patrols area lakes and rivers in water patrol watercraft.
2. Transports watercraft and tow vehicle between area lakes and rivers.
3. Patrols County parks and trails on foot, bike, ATV or vehicle.
4. Presents educational talks and classes to the public.
5. Provides maintenance of boats, bicycles, ATV's and vehicles.
6. Completes reports and citations.
7. Attends work in a regular and timely manner.
8. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age or will be by April 2025
- Possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with watercraft loading, unloading and operating
- Recent first aid training within the past two years
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within the past two years
- Experience providing security and/or enforcement of rules
- Experience as a law enforcement explorer or reserve police officer and
- Successfully completed or currently enrolled in a law enforcement program

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 95% of time outdoors and indoor work approximately 5% of the time.
The ability to hear and analyze information at a normal range of radio and speech is required. The ability to visually observe persons and conditions is required.
All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.
Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Water Patrol Sergeant.

As needed, not to exceed an average of 32 hours/week. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
