Position Objective
To provide case management services for clients by assisting them in changing behavior through evidence-based techniques in a variety of situations and providing documentation of client observations. This position is responsible for the verification and monitoring of sobriety, victim contact, employment, residence, associations, and other issues significant to law-abiding behavior.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists with supervision of clients by performing surveillance checks, collateral visits, victim contacts, employment verifications, and scheduled/unscheduled visits to ensure compliance with probation terms.
2. Collaborates with supervising agents to enhance public safety by enforcing law-abiding behavior and compliance with rules established by the court.
3. Monitors abstinence of illegal substance and alcohol use through approved testing such as preliminary breath and urinalysis tests.
4. Maintains timely records of contacts with clients by completing chronological entries in CSTS.
5. Participates in team process of assigned program.
6. Documents case activities to facilitate case planning and provide courts and releasing authorities with information required to make informed decisions.
7. Follows safety protocols and carries issued safety equipment (Taser & Radio) at all times to assure safety of self and others.
8. Maintains safety equipment at all times and regularly completes required training in use of equipment.
9. Attends work in a regular and timely manner.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.Minimum Qualifications
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Two years of post-secondary formal education in corrections, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or closely related field and three years of progressively related experience OR seven years of progressively related experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in corrections, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or closely related field and one year of progressively related experience
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license or the ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Reliable means of transportation to travel to multiple locations around Stearns County, some of which may not be accessible by public transportation
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite or a similar computer software technology

7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
8.  Ability to establish and maintain accurate records.

Work Environment and Physical Demands.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 25% of the time indoors and approximately 75% of the time outdoors. Will require frequent travel to off-site locations. Will have limited exposure to health hazards and accidents; requires a low level of physical effort. All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.

Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Human Services Supervisor.
Hours of Work
This position involves field type work out of the office approximately 75% of the time. Flexible schedule to include evening, early morning and weekends as determined by supervisor.
