Job Description
The Estimator creates skilled and competitive bid packages as part of the greater process to generate new business for the company. Prepares and assists in preparing proposals for design-build, GMP, conceptual, and competitive hard bid projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Estimates and writes professional proposals using ethical standards and the most current and strategic cost versus profit margin data available internally and industry wide.
- Stays up to date with the latest trends and best practices in estimating.
- Interprets and evaluates construction documents, plans, specifications, engineering reports, and contracts to generate accurate construction costs estimates and proposals.
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and all company staff members to encourage teamwork.
Requirements
To be successful as an Estimator, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of construction industry experience (in the office or field) with a preference of at least one year of estimating experience.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or construction engineering is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
