Field Torcher at Power Drive Supply
As a Field Torcher at Power Drive Supply, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining torching equipment while also engaging in various support tasks to facilitate efficient metal processing and logistics. Your role is vital in ensuring safe and effective operations in recycling and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate torches and other cutting equipment to prepare metal for recycling.
- Material Preparation: Cut, shape, and process various metal scrap materials according to specifications.
- Material Reduction: Cut large materials down into manageable sizes for hauling, ensuring they are suitable for transportation and processing.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading trucks with recycled materials and equipment, ensuring efficient logistics operations.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and loaders for transporting materials and assisting in job site tasks.
- Field Assistance: Go to job sites and assist crews in cutting up materials for gathering, promoting collaboration between team members in various field operations.
- Chain Down Loads: Properly secure and chain down loads in trucks to ensure safe transport.
- Sorting Nonferrous Materials: Help identify and sort nonferrous materials to enhance recycling efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow team members to maximize productivity and maintain a safe working environment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work and ensure that all processed materials meet the required standards for recycling.
- Maintenance Duties: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on torching and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Reporting: Assist in maintaining accurate records of work done and materials processed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a metal recycling facility or similar environment preferred.
- Knowledge of torching equipment, heavy machinery, and metal processing techniques is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety procedures consistently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be willing to travel
