As the General Manager at Steed Industries, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of our commercial concrete operations. Your leadership will drive operational efficiency, enhance business performance, and foster a culture of teamwork and innovation across the organization. This role demands an extreme depth of knowledge in project management processes, financial oversight, team development, and strategic decision-making to ensure the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies that align with the company's goals and ensure sustainable growth in the commercial concrete sector. You will analyze market trends, identify opportunities for innovation, and make informed decisions that position the company for long-term success. 

• Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget constraints. This includes creating and refining operational processes to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and productivity while maintaining a strong safety culture. 

• Project Management Process Creation: Design, implement, and continuously improve the project management process. This includes establishing project timelines, benchmarks, and best practices that ensure each project meets its milestones and quality standards. 

• Financial Management: Manage budgetary planning, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will ensure the financial health of the organization through effective cost control measures, maximizing profitability, and securing necessary funding for projects. This includes analyzing financial data to make informed decisions. 

• Estimating: Provide accurate estimates for project costs and timelines, leveraging data and market intelligence to create competitive bids. This involves assessing project scope, resources, and risks to ensure accurate pricing and project feasibility. 

• Client Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners. You will act as the primary point of contact, ensuring client satisfaction through open communication, addressing concerns promptly, and delivering exceptional service.  

• Quality Control: Enforce stringent quality control measures and safety standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. You will implement quality assurance practices to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications. 

• Team Development and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals. You will promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance while providing opportunities for professional development. This involves identifying team strengths and areas for growth, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating training. 

• Strategic Decision Making: Utilize data-driven insights to make strategic decisions that impact the direction of the company. You will evaluate the potential outcomes of various initiatives, considering both short-term and long-term effects on the business and its stakeholders. 

• Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve challenges that may arise during project implementation. You will guide teams in troubleshooting issues related to project timelines, budget overruns, and resource constraints, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.  

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a managerial position within the construction or concrete industry. 

• Extreme depth of knowledge in project management processes, financial management, estimating, and operational oversight specific to commercial concrete. 

• Proven track record of fostering client relationships and driving customer satisfaction. 

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. 

• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on strategic thinking and innovation.
