Truck Driver
As a Truck Driver at Steed Industries, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of concrete materials and equipment to and from job sites. Your role is essential to ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the high standards of service our clients expect. Key Responsibilities
- Transportation: Safely operate company trucks to transport concrete materials and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries to various construction sites.
- Loading and Unloading: Independently load and unload equipment and materials such as forklifts, manlifts, trowels, pickups, bunks of wood, rebar, and concrete forms, carefully handling items to prevent damage.
- Load Securement: Properly secure loads using appropriate methods to ensure safety during transport and compliance with regulations.
- Route Navigation: Plan efficient routes and navigate local and regional roads, including accessing tight job sites and maneuvering in challenging terrains.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe, functional, and compliant, reporting any maintenance or repairs needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and pre/post-trip inspection reports in adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules and logistics.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your coworkers.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience, preferably in the construction or concrete industry.
- Experience operating heavy vehicles and familiarity with loading and securing various construction equipment and materials.
- Knowledge of local and federal transportation regulations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and performing manual labor when necessary.
