The long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia has an immediate opening for an Accounting Supervisor. This dynamic position is designed to cultivate a diverse finance experience. The ideal candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, manage a team of accountants and clerks, and ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting.
Responsibilities
· Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and general ledger.
· Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings while ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and regulations
· Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
· Financial reporting, ESG reporting and reporting in OneStream.
· Developing and enhancing data analysis capabilities.
· Capital planning and budgeting.
· Assist with the month-end review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
· Assist with operating budget and analysis.
· Validate division-wide compliance with implemented policies and procedures and develop/enhance accounting policies and procedures.
· Facilitate coordination with internal and external auditors.
· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· Internal or external audit experience preferred.
· Relevant core competencies required: time management, highly organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying effective analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent people skills.
· Experience with ERP systems.
· Advanced knowledge of OneStream, Dynamics 365, and Jet Reports preferred.
· Dedication to details and ensuring accuracy of all work products.
· Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management.
· Proficient with the use of EXCEL (required) and Power BI (preferred).
· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant in active status (or working towards certification)(preferred).
