Accounting Supervisor

Overview

This position will oversee our accounting department’s daily operations and work closely with the Controller to manage financial functions. Tasks include supervision of accounting personnel, performing month end close and assisting management with various projects payroll, and audits. The successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills, a problem-solving attitude, and a desire to lead the accounting department staff.

Responsibilities

Verify accuracy and completeness of accounting activities by performing various tasks including (but not limited to) the following:

• Prepare various journal entries
• Perform month end inventory counts and reconciliations
• Review journal entries and reconciliations
• Prepare month end reports
• Prepare sales & use tax returns
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Guide accounting staff activities and answer questions
• Assist corporate with division-wide accounting tasks
• Assist with process improvements and special projects
• Safeguard employee, company, and customer confidential information
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SDI Policies
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education

Qualifications

Required

• 4-year Accounting or Finance degree with a minimum of 2 years accounting experience
• Strong Interpersonal skills
• Financial Reporting Experience, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented
• Willing to travel to other locations when necessary

Preferred

• Licensed CPA, or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
• Licensed CMA
• Great Plains or similar accounting system experience
