Finish Mill Roll Handler

Division

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain all chocks
• Assist roll shop personnel in ensuring the overall quality of rolls processed and work roll chocking procedures in the roll shop
• Responsible for accurate documentation and recording of roll chocking procedures
• Assist in the movement of rolls to the buildup table and mill roll change cars
• Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Assist in roll grinding operations and maintenance of roll grinders
• Assists other roll shop personnel as needed
• Operates overhead cranes
• Various housekeeping duties

Qualifications

• Strong safety awareness
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, & electronic)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently without direct supervision
• Works well with others and independently
• Detail oriented
• Strong Mechanical aptitude
• Willing to work scheduled & unscheduled overtime
• Ability to work in an extreme environment
• Ability to perform repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting, and walking to support routine responsibilities

Preferred - 

• Roll Shop or Machine Shop Experience
