The Graphic Design Intern will assist in designing and developing large-scale woodgrain and other natural images for the Digital Print Line. The intern will gain hands-on experience in digital imaging, file preparation, and print production, contributing to the team’s creative and technical projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in editing and enhancing scanned images of wood boards and natural elements in Adobe Photoshop, following direction from customers and/or the Creative Director.
- Preflight files, identifying and correcting mistakes or flaws.
- Layout and impose images for print production under supervision.
- Help maintain and organize design files to ensure efficient workflow.
- Learn and assist in operating an industrial scanner, including moving objects on and off scanner beds.
- Gain experience with new software to help maintain and operate an Epson proofer.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in graphic design or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (including cloning, curves, and color correction).
- Understanding of color profiles and color management.
- Strong attention to detail and an excellent eye for color.
- General knowledge of the CMYK printing process.
- Ability to focus on repetitive and detailed tasks.
- Willingness to learn new programs and technical skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
