Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors.
Responsibilities
- Source, qualify, and audit suppliers of consumables for the Mill
- Monitor inventories and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure steady and healthy flows
- Analyze markets to assess and manage risks and opportunities
- Work with operations to address any quality and delivery issues with suppliers
- Assist accounting in monthly inventory audits
- Assist operating departments with tasks as assigned
- Assist, monitor, and communicate with the OmniSource scrap team and the Butler Melt Shop with all scrap sourcing
- Work with divisional Controller and GM with natural gas forward purchases
- Purchase zinc for both Butler locations and assist with the zinc purchasing at sister companies
- Work with Melt and Casting Departments with alloy purchases
- Assist with pig iron purchasing
Qualifications
Required
- 4-year college degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar
- 5-8 years of relevant work experience
- Relevant core competencies required: effective negotiator, organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying practical analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills
- Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management
- Proficient in Excel
