Overview
This is a Summer 2025 internship in the safety department.
Responsibilities
- Maintain OSHA compliance
- Update required safety programs (LOTO, confined space, etc.)
- Conduct site audits
- Follow up with management to complete deficiencies
- Participate in compliance requests and activities pertaining to the division
- Provide reports and be a resource to management and employees
- Update Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
- Assist in hands on training including
- New hire orientation
- Fire extinguisher training
- First responder training
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Candidate should be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a safety related major
- Must have completed at least freshman year
- Preferred GPA of at least 2.7
- Must be willing to conduct safety audits in an industrial setting
- Must have knowledge of OSHA standards for general industry
- Must be highly organized and have a strong ability to multitask
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong analytical and issue identification, prioritization and resolution skills
- Ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to act objectively and within the strictest environment of confidentiality
- Must be highly proficient with PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
