Monitor, operate and maintain all water-cooling treatment systems, to assure efficient operation and achieve required water quality.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate all equipment associated with water treatment facilities, including pumps, watewater, filtration systems, cooling towers, heat exchangers, chemical systems, compressed air systems etc.
- Use system feedback, data, and analytical results to adjust system parameters as necessary to maintain optimum operating conditions, and water quality.
- Perform accurate recording and documentation of water quality data and meter readings.
- Checking and maintaining chemical inventories.
- General housekeeping of all Watertreat areas.
- Coordinate scale pit and solidification pit cleanings.
- Assist plant millwrights, electricians and/or contractors with the maintenance of the above equipment.
- Safely handle and supervise others in the safe handling of water treat and chemicals.
- Understand and fulfill SDI’s state & local water permit requirements.
- Ability to trouble shoot, and problem solve.
Required:
- Flexibility to work extra shifts and overtime as need for outages, maintenance jobs, or shift coverage.
- Ability to learn and apply safe chemical handling concepts including HAZWOPER training.
Preferred:
- Previous water treatment or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience storing and managing bulk chemicals.
- Understanding of water treatment systems.
