Reporting Relationship
As a Customer Service Representative I, you will report directly to the Director of Inside Sales, collaborating with key stakeholders across Steel King Industries. You’ll be a vital part of creating seamless interactions both internally and externally, ensuring that all departments work in harmony to deliver excellence.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll play a crucial role in delivering top-notch customer service and supporting our dealer network. From managing order details to providing expert product insights, your contributions will directly impact Steel King’s growth and customer satisfaction. Here’s a sneak peek at what your day-to-day will look like:
- Order Acknowledgement: Be the first point of contact for dealers by sending timely email confirmations and ensuring all order details are spot on.
- Order Review & Resolution: Double-check order acknowledgements against purchase orders and quotes, proactively working with the team to resolve any discrepancies.
- Customer Support Excellence: Assist dealers with everything from freight status to product availability, providing clear answers and quick solutions to any questions or concerns.
- Problem-Solving: Help customers resolve issues—whether it’s damaged, missing, or incorrect products—by swiftly organizing replacements or returns to keep operations running smoothly.
- Order Entry & Back-Up: Enter orders across various categories and pitch in as a back-up for the receptionist and phone duties when needed.
- Assist in the training of Excalibur Distributors with regards to Quick Ship product.
- Support the corporate goals and objectives.
- Work with Steel King dealers assisting them with literature requests.
- Assist in the efforts to educate distributor sales personnel regarding Steel King capabilities and procedures, product knowledge, application information, sales strategies and tactics.
- Educate distributors, customers and Steel King personnel in the safe use of our product
- Customer support backup as needed by the Director of Inside Sales.
- Any related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Inside Sales, Vice President of Sales and/or the Executive Committee of Steel King Industries, Inc.

- Education & Skills:
- An Associate’s degree in Business or related field (or equivalent experience).
- A strong grasp of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively in and amongst teams.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating in a team setting.
- Apply skills to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Possess sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Read, analyze, and interpret documents such as Request for Proposals(RFPs), Standard Operating Procedures (Work Instructions), and Company Policies.
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely manner.
- Experience:
- Ideally, 0-1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a manufacturing or steel industry setting.

A Day in the Life at Steel King:
This position is based in an office environment, requiring some light lifting (up to 25 pounds) and regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers, etc.). You’ll be a key player in helping us stay organized and efficient in our daily operations. We do have a 4 day in office and 1 day remote, however with this position, you may be required to work in the office 5 days a week.
