Production Assistant - 1st shift

Title: Production Assistant

Steel Manufacturing & Warehouse Company is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and is one of the oldest carbon steel service centers in the Midwest. Established in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1921, Steel Manufacturing and Warehouse has evolved into one of the Midwest’s premier carbon flat rolled and plate centers.

We are looking for a Warehouse employee who will work with our team. This role is located at our main facility in Kansas City, Missouri.

Hours of work:

• 8am - 6:30pm, Monday - Thursday

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares orders by processing requests and work orders; pulling materials; packaging and staging orders for delivery
• Loads and unloads material within warehouse
• Utilizes forklifts, hoists or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards
• Maintain safe, orderly and clean work environment; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Completes work orders by entering required information
• Maintain orderly and clean work area.
• Perform general warehouse duties.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Language Skills (To be determined during Interview process)
• Mathematical Skills (High School Equivalent)
• Subject to Drug Screening and Background Checks
• Must be able read a tape and micrometer
• General knowledge of forklift operations and industrial power equipment
