Job description
The Panel Machine Operator Road Crew is a multi-functional role that is responsible for setting up and operating equipment in the process of fabricating metal building parts and operation of other metal-forming machines. This role requires up to 50% travel on the road to job sites throughout the country. A valid driver's license and clean driving record for the last five years is required. Experience driving an over-size truck or commercial vehicle is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all plant/company Safety protocols.
- Effectively communicate, follow instructions, and work well with others.
- Perform pre-shift inspection of machinery and equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Perform the required set-up and start-up of machinery and equipment.
- Gather all the necessary paperwork for the work to be performed.
- Verification on that all required tools and raw materials are present and ready for use.
- Perform configuration of machine control unit to perform the required function.
- Assist other team members with the moving of material and loading of finished goods onto pallets.
- Monitor the machine for proper performance, and the raw materials for quality and consistency.
- Prepare documentation containing notes and details of work performed.
Physical Demands / Qualifications:
- The ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, push, and pull frequently.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of weight for up to 100 feet.
- The ability to tolerate all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The required PPE are safety hat, safety vest, safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (when necessary).
- The ability to work longer than 8 hours, when required.
- The ability to tolerate working in an outdoor environment.
- The Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16th of an inch
- Due to business necessity and safety concerns, employees must proficiently speak and write English.
- Must live within a reasonable commute to Blackshear, GA.
Salary
$18 to $20 per hour depending upon experience.
