Position Summary:
The Distribution Center (DC) Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of the DC, including the development, growth and daily operation of the Warehouse, Shipping, Freight and Tubing areas. The primary role for the DC leader is to develop best-in-class practices and improve our performance. The position is on-site, no remote work.
Primary Functions:
- Coordinate sharing, flexibility and cross-training of staff; jump in and assist where needed
- Lead the internal operations charge to meet or exceed the “Voice of Customers” by creating a lean operation designed with safety, agility, and speed
- Understand forecasted volume and plan the staffing, including temporary employees, to best meet business objectives
- Meet business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, inventory accuracy, and space optimization
- Ensure the DC operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations
- Interview, select, on-board, and train new employees
- Develop and evaluate team members, and provide them with personal growth opportunities
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by recommending and enforcing company policies and adhering to legal regulations
- Ensure a supportive work environment using a positive communication style and teamwork attitude
- Support, communicate and achieve company goals, leading the team by example
- Recommend and implement new procedures

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ten years’ experience in warehouse and/or shipping operations, in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Prior leadership experience required
- Lean Manufacturing Principles experience preferred
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
- Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and some bending and stooping
- Using computers, tools and equipment
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to become forklift certified
